As you can appreciate, following the recent Government Covid restrictions on numbers on outdoor events, we will not be able to hold our outdoor rehearsal on 31 August. Instead we will have a Zoom singalong of well known choral pieces on that night. if you are interested, email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send you a Zoom link. All welcome and hope to see you there
FEEL FREE TO JOIN US MONDAY 31 AUGUST 2020
We would be delighted to see old and new members outsde St Mary's Priory, Tallaght on Monday 31 August 2020 at 7.00pm
for a 1- hour long OUTDOOR REHEARSAL (weather permitting).
We have devised a new programme for 2020 which we hope will give support to and assist contact between our members in these Covid times
Following our 31 August venture, we will attempt one more outdoor rehearsal on Monday 7 September at 7.00 pm singing Hallelujah and other known choruses. If rain is forecast we will revert to a Zoom rehearsal.
- For the remainder of this year, we will hold Zoom sectional rehearsals with Lynsey, our conducter, followed by piano practice with Patrice and a ‘social room’.
- Try a new venture - do a TCS virtual recording of known pieces for use at the Priory’s normal Remembrance and Carol Services. Lynsey will coach and help us with this venture
- Organise monthly non- singing monthly activities.
Interested? If so, please come along and join us on these Monday nights at 7.00 pm in the Dominican Priory, Tallaght village and see how it goes.
Our rehearsal and concert season runs from early September to late May each year. We normally hold practice sessions in St Mary's Priory, Tallaght Village weekly on Monday nights and we take part in up to four public performances per year. However, our usual format and activities have had to be tailored to provide a ''COVID FREE'' choir and we hope that our current programme meets the social and musical needs of our choir.
Tallaght Choral Society is made up of a diverse group of people of all ages and backgrounds and there is a great social aspect to the choir experience!
Members have the chance to improve their vocal and performance skills, and get to know their fellow singers.
TCS often performs in collaboration with other large choral and orchestral groups.
What's expected of me?
You do not need to have had formal voice lessons to take part in Tallght Choral Society. Members are, however, expected to be able to sing in pitch and with accurate rhythm. Sight-reading skills are useful but not essential. Our practic nights allow new members to brush up on their vocal and musical skills.
How do I join?
If you are interested but don't have a lot of experience with choirs, why not just come along on Monday night and try out a rehearsal or two. No harm in testing the water to see whether our music suits you !!. After a few weeks, Tallaght Choral Society will audition you to assess which voice part is best for you..
So, if you are intersted or want to find out more, please contact us at info@tallaght choral.ie or take the plunge and join us on Mondays!
