What's involved?

Our rehearsal and concert season runs from early September to late May each year. We hold practice sessions and musicianship classes in Tallaght Village weekly—currently on Monday nights—and take part in up to four public performances per year.

Tallaght Choral Society is made up of a diverse group of people of all ages and backgrounds and there is a great social aspect to the choir experience!

Members have the chance to improve their vocal and performance skills, and get to know their fellow singers.

TCS often performs in collaboration with other large choral and orchestral groups. This year we are joining up with the Belfast Philharmonic Choir in Dublin for a performance in June in the National Concert Hall and later in October in the Ulster Hall, Belfast for a repeat performance . So, very quickly you will get to experience the thrill of performing as part of a large group in exciting venues.

What's expected of me?

You do not need to have had formal voice lessons to take part in Tallght Choral Society. Members are, however, expected to be able to sing in pitch and with accurate rhythm. Members usually have some sight-reading skills on joining the choir but we consider this on a case-by-case basis. Our musicianship classes allow new members to brush up on their vocal and musical skills.

How do I join?

Tallaght Choral Society hold auditions every year for those who are interested in joining the choir. If you are interested but don't have a lot of experience with choirs, we encourage prospective members to come along and try a rehearsal or two. No harm in testing the water!!.
